About
Rob McCrady
September 2007 I got what I suspect was West Nile that turned to encephalitis then to an auto-immune disease that demyelinated my spinal cord and parts of my brain. Now the demyelination has stopped and I’m recovering slowly even though I’m very disabled and in a wheelchair. Remyelination will take years and my goal with this site and my apps is to just have me a reason to get up in the mornings and to get my story out there. And maybe brag to my friends “hey, look what I made.”
I can’t even feed myself yet I made this stuff. Because of my hypersensitive hands I can only use my laptop keyboard a few hours at a time. Everything I have created here has been with the smooth touchscreen of the iPhone and iPad. For things I am not able to do myself (like programming and art) I used freelancers from sites like odesk and elance. I also need my laptop for the occasional thing my iPad wont do like xcode, photoshop, flash and zip files. I am learning programming but outsource my programming until my ambitions match my skill.
I strongly believe ideas are cheap and the true value in something is it’s execution. What I mean by that is I’m full of ideas and those ideas are worthless unless you do something with them, and not just half assed. Who knows if my ideas have any value?
Hopefully my story provides some inspiration for you.
